CASSIA – SHE STOPPED SEEING HERSELF THROUGH THEIR EYES
100 x 120 cm
Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
Cassia is the moment a woman stops measuring herself through the eyes of others.
For too long, she saw herself reflected in expectations, opinions, judgments and approval.
She wondered how she looked.
How she sounded.
Whether she was enough.
Whether she was too much.
But somewhere along the way, something changed.
She realized that being seen is not the same as being known.
Cassia no longer allows other people’s perception to become her identity.
She can be misunderstood and still know who she is.
She can be judged and still remain whole.
She can be seen differently by everyone around her and still stay true to herself.
Her face carries layers, colour, contrast and traces of experience, but none of them define her alone.
-I am not who you see. I am who I know myself to be.-
